NOT EVEN DEAD
Two woman wake up in their funeral. They don't know what happened or why are they together. With all these on mind the play is a story about death, life, good, bad, morality and death again. The one we all fear, but we can't scape from he/she/it.
Dead as a tabu...
Two woman wake up in their funeral. They don't know what happened or why are they together. With all these on mind the play is a story about death, life, good, bad, morality and death again. The one we all fear, but we can't scape from he/she/it. In "Not even dead" we confront these tabu from a humorous perspective, but not any humor; dark, sensitive, real humor. Also the theatrical space is consumed by these unrealistic but human story. How does these space work where the characters can wake up, talk, laugh and cry, but being death at the same time? Is these a purgatory? Is these heaven? is these hell? These questions are not only existencial questions. These questions are in the space, in the scene, in the body.
In "Not even dead" we investigate not only the questions, ideas or emotions that surround death, but we also think in the magic, the quantum physics, the geometry of life and death. What are the possibilities of these "purgatory", where two characters find each other to understand theirs deaths, theirs life, theirs wishes, theirs desires, theirs regrets.
Francesca is a woman who lives their live at maximum, she always did what she want it, she always enjoyed life. Fran is a woman who just want to scape her reality and for that she tries to do everything perfect, she behaves, she feels proud not to be the “normal” teenager. Why these two characters wake up together in their own funeral? How do they react to being dead? How they relate with each other and with the life they left behind?. Are they proud? Do they have regrets? All these questions, all these process happens in a space that for us, is a third character. Is not any space, is not a funerary home, is a space in between, a space between the moment they were alive and the moment the are dead. How these space react?, is not a normal or daily-life space, it does not work with the normal laws of physics or logic, is an unknown space where everything can happen, where everything is mixed, where there is too many questions and not too many answers. "Not even dead" is a real human piece that happens in a not so real or human space. We have the stories from these two opposite characters in these magical, theatrical, surrealistic space.
